The EQE SUV has Car-to-X Communication, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The Ioniq 9 doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure or other vehicles.

Both the EQE SUV and the Ioniq 9 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, front seat center airbag, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The EQE SUV has more powerful engines than the Ioniq 9:

On the EPA test cycle the EQE SUV 350+ RWD gets better mileage than the Ioniq 9 S RWD (98 city/87 hwy vs. 103 city/81 hwy MPGe).

The EQE SUV AMG’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Ioniq 9 doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the EQE SUV’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Ioniq 9:

The EQE SUV AMG offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Ioniq 9 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The EQE SUV’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Ioniq 9 S/SE’s standard 60 series tires. The AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+’s optional tires have a lower 35 series profile than the Ioniq 9 Limited/Calligraphy’s 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the EQE SUV has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Ioniq 9 S/SE. The AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+’s optional 22-inch wheels are larger than the 21-inch wheels on the Ioniq 9 Limited/Calligraphy.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the EQE SUV can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Ioniq 9 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The EQE SUV offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Ioniq 9’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For better maneuverability, the EQE SUV with rear wheel steering’s turning circle is 6.5 feet tighter than the Ioniq 9’s (34.5 feet vs. 41 feet). The EQE SUV’s turning circle is .6 feet tighter than the Ioniq 9’s (40.4 feet vs. 41 feet).

For greater off-road capability the AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Ioniq 9 (7.6 vs. 6.9 inches), allowing the EQE SUV to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The EQE SUV is 7.7 inches shorter than the Ioniq 9, making the EQE SUV easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

An ASSYST PLUS is standard on the EQE SUV to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for tire rotation and brake pad replacement based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Hyundai doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Ioniq 9.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Ioniq 9 Limited/Calligraphy, the EQE SUV has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The EQE SUV’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The Ioniq 9’s standard rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to open or close them fully.

If the windows are left open on the EQE SUV the driver can close them all at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Ioniq 9 can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The EQE SUV’s standard Keyless-Go allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Proximity Key standard on the Ioniq 9 doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the EQE SUV to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Ioniq 9 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the EQE SUV offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The Ioniq 9 doesn’t offer cornering lights.

The EQE SUV’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Ioniq 9 offers an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Mercedes EQE SUV has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors are only offered on the Ioniq 9 SEL/Limited/Calligraphy.

The Mercedes EQE SUV has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Homelink® is only available on the Ioniq 9 SEL/Limited/Calligraphy.
